How to read these numbers
Each destination shows a first-kilogram rate and a per-kilogram rate. The first kilogram is the base cost of moving anything at all; the per-kilogram rate covers everything above it. That structure explains why adding a second item to an existing parcel is usually far cheaper than starting a new parcel next month.
Volumetric weight matters as much as actual weight. A bulky jacket that weighs little can bill like a heavy parcel because shipping lines price the larger of the two. Removing boxes and vacuum packing bulky items is the cheapest way to shrink that number.
Duty, tax and declared value
Freight is not the whole bill. Depending on your country and the declared value the parcel carries, duty or import tax may be charged at delivery. Choose a line whose declared-value handling suits your local rules rather than the cheapest headline rate, and budget a margin rather than assuming zero.
